I agree. give the people who have the good a fighting chance to keep hitting until they break. It wont stop camping but it will make it not worth it.

If defending your land becomes cheaper, it will just help out the person at the top because they wont have to put as much goods into holding. All they would have to do is just sit online. I agree there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop camping in this game and still call it the same game. Camping goes both ways from the top and the bottom. I have played round and have been at the top and the bottom. Being at the top sucks sometimes because you cant play the game when you want to. You really have to wait until everyone is done. If you don't, then you will mage on the same land that everyone else is on even though you have more land than them because you will have to have army up. Countless numbers of times I have asked player while they run or after they run whats your plans on breaking the top? Most of them reply either I don't know and haven't thought about it, or just simply hope that the person isn't online when they reach the top. Countless amounts of times I have been on the top in blitz with very little back up weapons to replace them if I get into a online war and be hoping no one attacks. We have to just leave camping along and concentrate on other things that can actually help the game and get people to stick around or come back more and play. There is no point in making rules to suit the player base because they don't want to take the time to plan better. Just need to train the players in how to deal with camping and how to stop it. No matter what changes are maid to deter people from being online, they affect the majority of the players running up more than the person on top. Somebody will find out a way to use the new rules to their advantage to stay on top.

Changes/Suggestions » Pro Runs Jan 31, 2012 06:23 PM (Total replies: 4)

I only have one main suggestion for game changes that I believe will only bring people to the game by making it easier. Not trying to suggest stuff that I think will only help certain players but help the whole game and the ad community as a whole. My suggestion is if its possible is to have saved pro runs. Players who play this game can be allowed to have permanent game accounts like the forums tied to the email of there choosing which allows them to save a certain amount of pro runs so when they play they can just use those instead of trying to recreate a pro run. I believe a lot of players might decide not to play because they don't have the time to get a pro run in and still compete with the rest without loosing a bunch of turns. I don't know if it will take up too much space on the server but its just my idea to make the game simple for those who like to play the game, but cant play the game because they do not have the time to put into a pro run and still come out of pro without loosing turns.

Changes/Suggestions » Weapon cost rebalancing Jan 5, 2012 01:58 AM (Total replies: 44)

It seems like to me that of course their are ways to make weapons with every civ but is their a way that this information can be easily transferred to players who don't know how? Seems to dependent on not falling and losing too much weapons if you were to succeed in being solo with a civ that doesnt have a bonus in producing weapons. only way to make civs arguably playable by every style of player will be to give every civ an attack weapon bonus. except byz. they still have to buy stuff.

Changes/Suggestions » Mountain conversion Jan 5, 2012 01:33 AM (Total replies: 27)

it does seem like doing this will make admin have to police this new change too much and worry about land deletion and stuff. what math says that 1 plain for 1 mountain is a bad idea but cap it at at about 1:10 ratio or 1:15 ratio and have conversion only one way? u can only convert land to mtns and the other way around so we wont have civs running on no mountains and using the extra land as forts are something?

I have to agree with DR and Grand Larceny on this. I don't know the exact math because I haven't tried to figure it out but I was basing this on from what I hear is the basic ratio of mountain to plain that a byz needs to run which i heard was 1:10 ratio. Let someone figure out the right cap that will make other civs actually playable instead of mongols, zulu, and turks in teams. gotta take 1 big problem at a time. Lets try this capping the mountain conversion to a ratio where a civ can run comfortably with mine rls and try it out a round to see how well it works. seems like just this one move will kinda make this game a new game and give a different feel to it and possibly get some players back in the game and voting. So who is organizing the donating because I wouldn't mind chipping in.

people will put more stuff on the pm if you know some1 is gonna buy them. every1 knows byz buys everything so they will make more an effort to put more stuff on the pm and looking and see that there is stuff that they need also and buy stuff for cheap. it will get people learning to use the public market again. but it should be more of a conversion and not buying land from other players. but turks, vikes, byz, chins, incas, can all benefit from changing other land to mountains. It should be stopped at like a certain ratio. my suggestion is a 1:10 ratio.

Changes/Suggestions » Code Changes - Global Land Market Jan 1, 2012 03:11 PM (Total replies: 11)

This is my suggestion on it which i posted in blitz and standard.

my idea that I posted in standard was to make buying land a local market thing. it should be a simple exchange or basically a conversion of like 1 plain for 1 mountain or 2 plain for 1 mountain. there should be a limit on how much u can do this. the limit should be you can only exchange land until u get a 1:10 mountain to forest and plain ratio. this way we wont have to worry about the top guy buying up the land. this would help civs like chins, vikes, byz, and turks. would be something that we might have to try a round to see. it wont make the byz overpowered because more byz means more gold and more public market play so more gold circulating.
