Okay... I came here to post my results of my exploring Jap pro run. I definitely had an above average pro run. It was my first time trying one since 2005 so I am happy with my results. I didn't do a turn by turn start up, actually, didn't do any start up at all. But I plan on doing one in Blitz sometime soon, so I will document my first few years of pro and post them here to help newbies out. I'll give some tips though, or things that I did to give me these results. First off, without a doubt, the most important thing about getting a pro run like this is to focus on Exploring " All Land " whenever you need resources to pay for your mageing. Do NOT sell food on the local to pay for your mageing, spend it all on Exploring. Another thing - I sent out Explorers from March until October for the whole run. When you hit October, calculate how much food your population eats for the next 5 years and leave that much to feed them ( Spend the rest on Exploring ) this may not be the best strategy, or your strategy, but it worked just fine for me. Also, I kept my Food and Explore research at 1:1. So for every 1 Food production I switched it to Exploring and maged 1 Explore RL. So I finished with 51 Food RL and 51 Explore RL. Again, next Blitz or possibly even next Standard, I will start up another exploring jap and make a turn by turn strategy for the first few years then post every January score after that so you can see if you are keeping up or even doing better.

First I will post my January 1010 score from my Jap account in Blitz. That one was all Food Production so I had 31 Food RL. As you will see, the exploring Jap isn't ahead by much at that year. Only 10k land with the same RL. But keeping it 1 Food to 1 Explore quickly pays off after the next couple years or so. An average Jap pro run by September 1026 with all Food RL is anywhere from 1.4 to 1.5 mill land. I finished with nearly 2.1 mill land with some Explore research. So there is obviously a huge difference there.

Anyway, here you go. First will be my all Food production January 1010 score, followed by my Exploring Jap January 1010 score, followed by my complete January exploring scores.

Okay... I did the first Five years so far. Up until January 1005. Going to post it now. Not sure how much more I will do as it is getting late and I am running out of time in Blitz. Stupid me. Should have started this a day or two ago. Anyway, as with most protection runs, it is a balancing act. If I don't do any more, no worries, I will continue another day. Someday I will have the full run up until September 1026. I hope this is easy to follow. I tried to make it as simple as possible. A lot of randomness plays into this kind of a pro run with Japanese. Definitely not as easy to explain as my 800 turn Turk pro run was. Tools is always a random thing. We all lose them at different times. Just try and sell enough Iron/Wood to cover the cost to get maximum tools for your builders. That is very important ( especially early on ).

Anyway, I hope this little start up will help guide some people to get a better pro run. I spent a great deal of time on this as taking 1 turn at a time is long enough - nevermind explaining the whole thing in detail. May not be the best start up but it works for me and should work for you as well. As you have already seen, I hit 2.1 mill land using this start by September 1026. I don't think I could name one person who wouldn't want that for a pro run using catting Jap. K... So, here you go. First 5 years in detail. No need to thank me here. Thank me by using the start... lol... :p

Yeah thanks DR. I apologize guys for not continuing. It was really late and I had to sleep. Again, my fault for not finishing until at least January 1010. Like I said I should have started it a day or two ago. Oh well. Someday I will finish it up for you guys. But yeah, Jack, feel free to move it wherever you wish. Doesn't matter to me at all.

Actually, we all lose them in May and October. Yeah?

if (month is 5 or month is 10) {
toolsUsed = int(randRange(10, 20));
toolsUsed = round(numBuilders * toolsUsed / 100);
if (toolsUsed gt 0) {
message = message & "#toolsUsed# tools wore out<br>";
if (rTools gte toolsUsed) // if has enough tools supply builders with them
rTools = rTools - toolsUsed;
else rTools = 0;
}

Ok thx Tem.

Also, guys, I had a very different outcome on my second attempt following this start.
I'll just say this. If you are stockpiling a ton of wood and iron, explore Plains only. For whatever reason, when I did this start-up, it seemed like I never had enough wood or iron. Well, I wasn't stockpiling anyway. However, on my second attempt, I had a ton of extra wood and iron ( and that was with 500 less wood cutters and 500 less iron mines by Jan 05 ), so that allowed me to explore for Plains only, Not All Land.

Like, in Jan 05, on my second attempt, I had 1,000 more farms and 500 less wood cutters and 500 less iron mines than on my first attempt ( this start up that I posted ). And I had 1k more land and the same amount of research as well by Jan 05. So... again, simple really, If you have plenty enough wood and iron to cover the cost of your tools and maging research, explore for Plains only and focus on Farms and some Mage towers.

Another thing - try and keep your Mage Research Levels to Researching 1 RL every 3 turns. Keep it under 3 or around 3. That means every 3 turns you gain a research point. Early on I keep it way under 3. But later on, as your research increases, keep it around 3 to 3.5 tops. Don't let it go above 4 or higher.

K... If I can remember anything else or have any more tips I will come back here and post them.
